I started to plot out the joined big hexagons … Mac seems to like it.
The brown join was bothering the boys. I found a purple tweed skein and used that instead to join the motifs together, then the dark violet or eggplant to border the big hexagon. That way the individual motifs are still outlined.
I used the brown to join the big hexagons together. I still wanted that brown as part of the overall design.
Mac still likes it …
So we keep on going …

Oh my goodness, this is turning out to be absolutely lovely!! I’m not usually a fan of multi-tonal yarn in crochet because of pooling, but oh my goodness, this works so well!
Thanks! I wasn’t sure at first either, but I think it’ll turn out well after all.
Looks beautiful
Thank you. I’m still fiddling with it a little, and don’t know how the finished product will look yet, but there’s time to figure that out later.
That is lovely and I really like the idea of the big hexagons and how they look!
Thank you much. Not sure yet how the finished product will look, but I’ll figure that out when the time comes.
This is lovely 🙂
Thanks. It’s slowly growing on me, if I can say that. I like the colour combination, but I still have this feeling that it’s too dark. maybe my eyes are getting bad …
I think the darker tones really make the multi-colored yarn pop! What kind of yarn did you use? It’s gorgeous 🙂
Yes, the darks make the colours pop.
The multi-coloured is Red Heart Watercolours.
The solid is Vanna’s Choice in Eggplant, and Red Heart Dark Orchid.
I think the purple tweed is Lion Brand Stripes, but I can’t be sure.
The brown is Red Heart too.
I am going to have to get me some of that Red Heart Watercolours!
